Blood-Brain-Barrier
Generation of 3D co-culture models to mimic the barrier integrity of epithelial and endothelial cells
Brain is such a complicated tissue with many different cell types implicated in its normal- and patho-physiology that it imposes a high hurdle for generating in vitro models close to its natural tissue microenvironment. Qureator’s 3D co-culture organ-on-a chip platform allows researchers not only to investigate the intricate biological responses from the interactions between different cell types in the brain but also to reconstitute conditions unique to it such as the blood-brain-barrier (BBB).
